The thing with recommendations is that you should only accept them from people you trust. Don't go to the shoe shop your flatmate suggests when you know she wears K Swiss trainers un-ironically. Don't get that takeout your cousin recommends when you know she only eats potato waffles and beans. Don't watch that series your boyfriend keeps banging on about because he still quotes The Office in everyday conversation. That sort of thing. Which is why, when Kelis – actual chef and creator of a milkshake that brings all the boys the yard according to her hit song "Milkshake" – decides to share her recipe for a milkshake she personally deems perfect, you know to listen. And luckily for you, she's done just that.

Of course, you can't really go wrong with milkshake recipes, can you? I mean, sure, you could deviate from the normal rules and add something disgusting like tuna, but if it includes some variation of ice-cream and any number of sweet things, like, it's going to be delicious. Also, this recipe was probably definitely absolutely the result of a Baileys sponsorship but wtv. I'm not here to be a killjoy. There is no ethical consumption under capitalism so let's just drink it, shall we.

You can find the recipe below, and see the video of her making the milkshake in real time via Refinery29 above.

Ingredients:
3 oz Baileys
8 oz ginger beer
4 scoops chocolate ice cream
5 pieces candied ginger
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Chili cinnamon rim
Ginger-infused whipped cream for garnish

Preparation:
1. Combine Baileys, ginger beer, chocolate ice cream, candied ginger and cayenne pepper in a blender with a cup of ice. Blend until smooth.
2. Pour mixture into glass with chili-cinnamon-sugar rim (1:1:1).
3. Top with ginger infused whipped cream and a piece of candied ginger.
4. Check the yard.
