The incident: A man named Kenneth Krause saw a fat lady on TV.

The appropriate response: Nothing.

The actual response: Kenneth sent an email to the woman, calling her out for being fat:

"It's unusual that I see your morning show, but I did so for a very short time today. I was surprised indeed to witness that your physical condition hasn't improved for many years. Surely you don't consider yourself a suitable example for this community's young people, girls in particular. Obesity is one of the worst choices a person can make and one of the most dangerous habits to maintain. I leave you this note hoping that you'll reconsider your responsibility as a local public personality to present and promote a healthy lifestyle."

If this is something he does every time he sees a person on TV that is anything but a person at the height of their physical peak, then Kenneth must be a very busy man.

The incident: A news-anchor named Jennifer Livingston received an email calling her fat.

The appropriate response: Emailing the person back explaining why you disagree with them. Like how adults do.

The actual response: A four-minute "news segment" in which she read out the email.

Fuuuuuucking hell. That part at the end where she starts talking about the children who feel lost because of the colour of their skin and "DO NOT let yourself be defined by your bullies" or whatever; That's insane. I mean, obviously his email was a dick move. But it was just a mean email. I get those all the time. And I never spend any time talking about them, on or off TV.

I'm 99% sure the reason she read that email out on TV was nothing to do with inspiring the world's bullied children. She just wanted to get back at the guy who sent it by publicly humiliating him.
