Adamski's Covered Engelbert Humperdinck in a Surprise Tribute to Frankie Knuckles

The most bizarre yet touching dance music track we've heard all month.

How's this for a WTF mash-up.

Adamski has released a belated, unexpected tribute to the late Godfather of House, Frankie Knuckles. "The Last Waltz" is a cover of one of Engelbert Humperdinck's biggest hits sung by vocalist David McAlmont. Naturally, the track samples Knuckles' instantly-recognisable, "Your Love". It's a surprisingly successful mash-up and a heartfelt elegy for the legendary Warehouse DJ who died earlier this year.

It's not clear why UK producer Adamski has chosen to release "The Last Waltz" on his SoundCloud now, the track was initially part of his Future Waltz project, a series of electronic reinterpretations of music composed for the ballroom dance. You can view a video of McAlmont performing the original last year below, and hear a slightly editted version dedicated to Knuckles here.
