Just what would to do to bask in your very own 15 minutes of glorious Internet fame? Forget about paltry ice buckets and passé plumes of cinnamon. Unless you're willing to publicly out yourself as an enigmatic chicken foot litterer, one whom half a city hates, you probably have a thing or two to learn from Shanghai's netizens.

Shanghai's social media users are frantically searching for a mysterious woman who just last Saturday was filmed getting into a heated argument with several passengers on Shanghai's Metro Line 2. The reason for the verbal contretemps? The woman allegedly discarded pickled chicken feet bones on the subway floor.

South China Morning Post reports that the now infamous Shanghaian woman got into a row with fellow passengers after being confronted by one for tossing her discarded chicken feet in a crowded subway car. The now-viral video shows a well-dressed young woman vehemently denying that she created the mess, despite still holding a bag of pickled chicken feet in her hands. Oddly, the argumentative subway rider is also filming the incident on her own cell phone while she yells expletives at her fellow straphangers.

The uploaded video, which was filmed and uploaded by an anonymous subway rider, has since gone viral on Sina Weibo and plays out for a total of two argument-laden minutes. According to the Daily Mail, our enigmatic eater can be heard dishing out classy lines like, "Did the eye on your butt see me throwing?" She also mutters this classic: "What's the difference between me holding bones in my hands and throwing them on the floor?"

Everyone in Shanghai—and beyond—seems to be spending a ridiculous amount of time trying to figure out who the mystery woman in the video is. Some have suggested that Miss Chicken Feet is in fact a violin teacher at a music training institute in the Pudong district of Shanghai, but no one has been able to verify the claim.

In what may be the strangest turn of events in what is a pretty weird story anyway, several young women have stepped forward to claim that they are, in fact, the chicken litterer.

One woman who claimed to be the disgraced star of the video said she would "not bow her head in shame as she had done nothing wrong and didn't care about the public's comments about her."

Yet another vying for credit as the chicken-foot-eating slob allegedly apologized and said she had lost her job because of the incident. This women, however, has some nasty things to say about the person who uploaded the video, claiming it was an "inappropriate" way to criticize her.

Why would anyone claim to being an ostracized chicken-foot-spewing mess? If only we had the answer.
