The art and science of a good party. For some, it’s a life-long experiment of trial and error. For others, a natural instinct. They can’t help it, and we shouldn’t resent them. We just show up when they invite us. So it is with SYN, a mini-festival and showcase of some of Melbourne’s top arts and music figures. The organisers have assembled some of our favourite producers and DJs, including Friendships, SilentJay + Jace XL, Edd Fisher & Kid A amongst other A-list underground stars. Inspired by the multi-sensorial phenomena of synaesthesia, there’s collaborative performances across visual arts, video arts, and dance. There’s drink, there’s food, there’s your friends, and there’s previously unheard and unseen experiences. Anything else you need to know is right here. One of the minds behind the venture is Mary Grigoris, who’s put together this playlist of artists involved to get you ready for tonight.
