“Back fat is the new cleavage,” according to Glenn, the non-gender-conforming manager of Redress, a plus-size vintage store in Brooklyn. With that in mind, we attend the grand finale show of the week. 

Backstage is awash with Spanx and hairspray, while out on the catwalk the girls are rocking everything from lingerie to Alice in Wonderland outfits. The crowd can’t get enough, and as one male fan puts it, “Size 12 and up, that’s how I be gettin’ it.”

Our week ends with a celebratory after-party cruise around Manhattan. With an all-white dress code, tearful speeches, synchronized dancing and red velvet cake, it definitely ranks amongst one of the best fashion parties ever.
