By now, the name Datsik has become synonymous with face-melting bass music. Originally one of the biggest and hardest hitting stars of dubstep. He has since branched out into hip-hop, trap, drum and bass, electro, and more—anything harsh and relentless, really. His productions are ferocious, his live performances are sweltering, and his attitude is energetic and ebullient. We have to say it at least once: Datsik is sick.
During his recent performance in Toronto at The Guvernment, the bass pioneer was kind enough to speak with THUMP Canada about his musical career. From his disastrous first performance, all the way up to his current attempts at broadening his fans’ musical horizons, Datsik was forthcoming and open about his journey as an artist.
