The New York Giants announced some mildly puzzling news today: they waived 23-year-old defensive end Damontre Moore. He was young and talented, but frustrating both on and off the field. Also he apparently fought a teammate because he didn’t get a free pair of Beats By Dre.
According to Rapoport, “It was one of several displays of immaturity by Moore and the team decided enough was enough.” Part of that “enough is enough” calculus likely included his healthy scratch in Week 7 after earning a roughing the passer penalty (and $20k fine) the week before on a hit to Sam Bradford.

In announcing the decision to part ways with his 2013 third round pick, General Manager Jerry Reese said “we made the move today in the interest of both parties.” Which, sure. The Giants have an interest in not having guys fight over headphones and, honestly, if you’re Moore, who wants to be around people who don’t appreciate you enough to give you a pair of headphones? But is it possible Moore has a legitimate gripe?
If Jenkins was hoarding Beats by Dres—Beatses By Dre? What is the plural here? Should it be an “Attorneys General” situation? Or Maybe let’s just treat it like “deer”, the plural is the same—If Jenkins was hoarding multiple Beats By Dre, it sounds better for Moore. Except for the part where he’s been ineffective and disappointing.
