Thom from Alt-J Made a Mixtape for You

Do you remember those times when everything was romantic? Those times when you wrote your declarations of love with actual ink on actual paper instead of just drunk-typing them in your phone? During those times it was also considered a romantic gesture when someone made a mixtape for you – an actual tape that you could put in your tape player. Nowadays, in those clinical times where everything is digitalised, if you want a mixtape from your musical crush you’ll have to go through various middlemen (and women), send an official request via email – which is clearly even less romantic than a text – and then hope that you’ll get send a mix which, in the end, consists less of romantic songs than of banging tunes.

But, in this case there’s absolutely nothing to complain about. When we found the mixtape of Alt-J’s Thom in our inbox, we even blushed a bit. Is there anything more you could ask for? Having just released their latest album, This Is All Yours, under praise from all sides, Alt-J are on an interview marathon and will embark on an extensive tour very soon. Of course we’re turning red like tomatoes when the boys, in the midst of this all, take their time to create a special mixtape for us.

Actually it was Thom Green who crafted this for us. Being the drummer of the band, he’s producing more and more remixes and mixes in recent times and has now become something like Alt-J’s Jamie xx (Unfortunately we haven’t recieved any love letter from Jamie yet).
