If you’ve ever wanted to see Selena Gomez and Vanessa Hudgens play against type and drink and do (implied) drugs in a movie trailer while James Franco channels Riff Raff and chants, “Spring Breaaaayuk” over and over again over a very ominous Skrillex wobble, well you’re in luck because that’s exactly what you’re gonna get when you click “Play” on the above video. If you don’t know, Spring Breakers is Harmony Korine’s new film, a biggish-budget project for a dude who made a Dogme 95 film one time. It is about spring break. And crimes.
What’s more interesting than all that shit is the presence of Gucci Mane in a couple shots and his sole line in the trailer, “Y’all wanna die tonight?” In this interview with Power 105, Gucci explained his presence in Spring Breakers by saying, “It’s a white movie. I’m the only black person in the whole movie. It’s like a white Pulp Fiction. I’m the bad guy. That’s what they wanted me to play.”
