Santigold: “Girls”

Santigold delivers a sort of MIA-ish, wonky version of Bey’s “Run The World”, in this ode to the US sitcom “Girls” (Y’KNOW the one with no brown people in it) and is actually way too cool for what saps the characters are. It’s packed full of skips and warped vocals and sounds like how music would sound if it became really neurotic and self-aware and synth pads all started taking mescaline.

It’s great if you can handle the very acquired taste of Santigold’s voice, cos it does have the capacity to get pretty jarring after a while, so…a bit like the TV show then! But y’know, would still rather listen to her than half the women currently in the pop chart (I’m looking at you Ke$ha.)
