Oh this is good. Remember that scene in Squid and the Whale where Jesse Eisenberg figures no one at his school has heard of Pink Floyd so he claims he wrote “Hey You”? Some asshole in Iowa just did the same thing with a bunch of stand-up bits by Patton Oswalt, Louie CK, Maria Bamford, and the like. Only instead of being called out by his dad’s 20-year-old mistress, in this case, guy’s opening act recorded him from the rafters then posted the video to youtube, where he was busted by Patton , made up some shit about pulling the routine together for a last-minute benefit show, and was promptly re-busted. Our favorite part of his ‘appology letter’ is this line, “I do not know what I can say, or exactly how to appologize, as I have no personal manager or any one to consult with about my first public scandel,” because we keep reading it in the same voice Jeff Daniels uses when he says “I make veal cutlets, which both of the boys love.” Our favorite part of the lie en toto, however, is when he claims to have been a guest on that Colin Quinn talkshow from five years ago. Way to shoot for the stars, dude.
