Michael Bell of Electronic Duo Lymbyc Systym Has Died

Stereogum reports Michael Bell, one half of long-running electronic duo Lymbyc Systym, has died. He was 35. In a post on the band’s official Facebook page, Bell’s brother and bandmate Jason wrote, “Last week I lost my brother, my bandmate, my creative partner, Michael. I love him. I miss him.”

In August, the group released New Varieties, their latest album. Forming in Tempe, Arizona in 2001, the group has toured with acts as varying as Broken Social Scene and Crystal Castles.

“Thank you to everyone for listening, supporting and keeping his memory alive,” Jason Bell wrote. “He was so, so lucky to have all of you.”
