Photographic Memory with Nick Sethi

Sometimes you see a wonderful weirdo from across the room and you wonder how they spend their time, their nights. You want to know how they see things. In this new series, Absolut is reaching out to emerging artists & personalities to give them a platform to showcase their unique perspective. Every week or so we’ll check in with a wonderful weirdo that we love and ask them to send us pictures of their recent escapades.

This week we focus on photographer and New York favorite Nick Sethi.

Sethi first gained notoriety as Terry Richardson’s assistant a few years back, but has since stepped out of Richardson’s penumbra with a deliciously hectic onslaught of work that ranges from trips to India to working with the punk band Trash Talk. Always injecting his ballistic work with a healthy dose of humor and selfies, we figured Nick Sethi would be a nice start to the series:

Ready For a Night on the Town! Just realized I how obsessed with camo I am, and found all this in my house and had to shoot a photo.

My girlfriend Alicia camouflaged—white on white on white.

Best sunset I’ve seen in NYC. I never stop to take a photo like this but I spent an hour shooting down by the water.

Gogy at the tippy top installing at Magic Gallery on Canal St. He was jumping on the top step of the ladder to adhere this print to the wall!

My friend Othelo Gervacio (another sick artist) and my girlfriend Alicia goofing off at the Bar after the opening.

Got home and ended this day the same way I end most, with a late night walks with my dog Shadow.

Ready to pass out but had to do a little backyard yoga first.
