It is 2015 and we still don’t have dedicated cameras on the goal lines for most football games, but at least we now have Pylon Cam. ESPN stuffed some cameras in the pylons during the FCS Championship game today between Whatever and Who Cares and on top of being so useful it should probably be necessary, it was pretty cool looking!
The angle shown here runs perpendicular to the goal line, but presumably there would also be a view that goes down the actual goal line as well. It’s a cool view that makes you feel closer to the action, sort of like the camera embedded in the dirt in front of home plate during the All-Star Game, only useful.
