Street art has become a ubiquitously covered subject when it comes to glossy art books. Just wander into your local bookstore or browse online and you’ll be spoilt for choice. Which is why this particular book, covering the urban doodles from Belgrade, Serbia, is a refreshing addition to this popular coffee table genre. The book streetartlove.rs, conceived and photographed by Marko Todorović, not only strives to cover the more unconventional non-commissioned public art of a city, but it covers it in an unconventional way, too. The interactive book uses augmented reality to provide additional content, giving you background details on the pieces you’re perusing including interviews, videos, and more artwork.
To view the multimedia goodies you need to download Junaio, an AR browser, on your smartphone, find the streetartlove.rs channel, point it at the book and enjoy. It’s a book that shows old and new media can get along.
