Surfer Blood: “Weird Shapes”

I’d like to believe a parallel universe exists wherein Weezer are still good. I listen to Blue Album religiously and when I think about Raditude I have a little cry. Thankfully, Surfer Blood are seemingly growing into the shoes that Rivers Cuomo can no longer fill. With every record Surfer Blood release, the line between themselves and Weezer draws tighter and tighter.

Surfer Blood are a great band. But, I’m going to put it out there – John Paul Pitts is just as bad as Chris Brown. So, if we’re going to lambast Brown for his actions can we shout down Surfer Blood, too? Or, because they’re in an indie band, does it not matter?
