Car bombs and air strikes rocked Syria’s northern and southern borders over the weekend, causing casualties near a hospital and hitting a town a few miles from Israeli-occupied territory.
At least one person was killed and 11 more were injured on Sunday when a car bomb exploded near a field hospital in the town of Atmeh, a few miles from the Bab al-Hawa crossing on the Turkish-Syrian border. Earlier this month, a car bomb killed 13 people in Bab al-Hawa, which is under the control of the Islamic Front. The video below shows a crowd gathering around emergency responders while smoke and wailing sirens fill the air.

Meanwhile, to the country’s south, artillery and air strikes were reported on Monday on the town of Kerks, near the UN-controlled area of separation between the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights and Syrian territory. The video below shows gray smoke raising over what appears to be a residential area of the town.
