Broadly: Why do you oppose Trump’s recent immigration restrictions?

Laila Lalami, Los Angeles/Morocco: The executive order signed by the president establishes a new policy of evaluating visa holders and legal permanent residents not based on their actions, but on their nationality and religion. The order also shuts down the country’s doors in the face of people seeking refuge from the world’s worst conflicts. This ban is discriminatory, it is illegal, and it is immoral.
