For those of you born after 1995, Daphne and Celeste were a weird turn-of-the-century marketing gimmick aimed at combinging the then-popular trashy skate rap of bands like The Offspring with the child-friendly highly-sellable tween rebellion of Shampoo and, to a lesser extent, Lolly. The duo had a few SM:TV hits, all based around playground taunts (Ooh stick you, you mamma too/U.G.L.Y. you ain’t got no alibi) but their true legacy came at the 2000 Reading festival when this happened.
Now Celeste is BACK with her first recorded material in over a decade – some blog friendly R&B she recorded with a bloke called Kent.
