The Japanese are obsessed with 40-year-old gay porn star Billy Herrington. They have even made an action figure of him. Nico Nico Douga is a Japanese video-sharing site and when Herrington’s workout video was posted on there, he became a Japanese internet craze, like when Paris Hilton got banged.

The video was released with the following foreword: “Deep in the forest lived Billy and his charming companions. They peacefully honed their bodies and listened to music there. But a wave of development came upon the forests. One who would turn all to road. Kagamine Rin had come. Billy must stop the construction before all is turned to road.” Which is the heaviest shit I’ve heard since I watched The Matrix Revolutions.

Technically, this is a machinma, a genre of Japanese film where people turn into machines. It’s also jam packed with other anime characters and references tonnes of post-pop culture, internet-only memes. It’s mindblowing and confusing, and someone has tried to explain it here.
