After strong releases on labels including 1080p and Church, Canadian house producer Project Pablo (aka Patrick Holland) has announced a three-song EP Beaubien Dream on SOBO, the new dance music imprint of Arbutus Records (best known for helping launch the career of Grimes).
The title and label name (which stands for “Sounds of Beaubien Ouest”) refers to Montreal’s Beaubien Ouest neighborhood, where Holland lives. The EP doesn’t come out until June 3, but you can stream first track “Closer” below, which features plenty of the producer’s distinctive DX7 synth tones and subtle, syncopated cowbell patterns.
