I just came across a nice group of industrial designers and Swedish professors who want to rid the world of sanitation problems. So they’ve been field-testing a charming little thing called the Peepoo bag in small villages near Kenya. These tests consist of a line of people in lab coats holding clip boards and going, “Here, poo in this and see what happens.”

The Peepoo bag is scheduled for mass production this summer. If you click on the link on its website called “Start thinking Peepoo bag”, a picture is shown of a small village child holding a bag of her own shit. I can almost guarantee that this whole thing, website and all, was conceived and constructed under the influence of pot. Having people poo into bags is pretty much all I talk about once two sheets to the pipe and elbow deep in a bag of Cheetos, but I am sadly without United Nation’s funding.

But anyway, I’m pretty sure that the concept of pooing in bags has already been around for a long time. It’s called Halloween. Or being homeless.
