Back in the mid-90s the term Wall of Sound was increasingly associated with the then up and coming label of the same name, rather than Phil Spector’s magic dust. Thanks to the indie label—founded by Mark Jones—we had early cuts by Röyksopp ( “Poor Leno”!), Propellerheads, Les Rythmes Digitales (producer Stuart Price’s first musical incarnation), Felix Da Housecat, Mogwai, The Bees, and Basement Jaxx, not to mention releases by Grace Jones and The Human Leagure.
Try to banish the presence of Reverend and the Makers and Tiesto from their roster if you can.

Elusive artist Banksy was also loitering around the doors of WoS in the early days. Recalling his experiences with the label he had this to say: “Spending time with Wall Of Sound is like being in an epic road movie, without a map. And no road.”
To celebrate 21 years in the game they’re releasing a new two CD label compilation called, Walls Have Ears—21 Years Of Wall Of Sound, on 04.13.15 via PIAS. Above is the premiere of a WoS mini-mix and below is the tracklisting.
