The self-declared micronation has put out dramatic footage showing a man hurriedly running through sand before being handcuffed and dragged to a police boat that is flying a Croatian flag.
The president of the self-proclaimed country Liberland was reportedly arrested while attempting to enter the new nation on Saturday.
Vit Jedlicka — the leader of Liberland, an unclaimed no man's land between Croatia and Serbia— told VICE News that he was questioned for five hours and fined $177.
Thanks to both the Croatian and Serbian border police, nobody made it to Liberland's launch. Not even its own president.
