Fashion Week Internationale Mixtape

You’ve all seen our show Fashion Week Internationale by now – the one where host Charlet Duboc goes to various fashion weeks around the world and looks at all the clothes on display, but mainly does other far more interesting things, like hang out with Rio’s transsexual prostitutes, Pakistan’s only rapper and Billy Bad Ass, the CEO of Urban Fashion Week. You know about that – that’s done.

What you might not know about, however – something that’s been much lamented by commenters and talking heads on very, seriously important television shows – is who provided the music for the last season of FWI and where you could get hold of it. Well, the original score was arranged by in-house composers Grant Armour, Daniel Canetti and Coby Sey, and they’ve kindly put together this mixtape for us to stop you all from whining and bitching about the fact you can’t find the music anywhere online.

The mix oscillates between the Geinoh-Amashirogumi Akira OST via broken Fairlight samples, Vangelis’ Blade Runner score and Korean psych for Seoul Fashion Week. Disembodied chanting and Palestinian folk filtered through Oneohtrix and Muslimgauze provide the backdrop for Tel Aviv. And jumped-up Lex Lugerish trap and hazy 140bpm cloud rap loops sum up con-man Billy Bad Ass’ sleaziness for Urban Fashion Week.
