These photos by Coke Bartrina make me think of: Nature documentaries, the French New Wave, googly eyes, psychedelic drugs, beer, boobs and 1980s horror movies. Which, coincidentally, are all things that I like, so you can imagine that Coke’s images thrill me in ways and places that I can’t really explain.

Despite swimming in the same waters as other fashion blog photographers, all his images – whether for mainstream fashion clients or Fuego (a ridiculously good fanzine that he co-edits) – retain a playful self-awareness, allowing him to comment on fashion blog clichés without being condescending. He is also obsessed with carpentry. Carpenters make stuff out of wood. That shit’s great.
