As Noisey mulled over last week, NFL are suing MIA for a cool $1.5 million for breaching her performance contract after she flicked the whole of the world the middle finger while mouthing “I Don’t Give A Shit”, during Madonna’s Super Bowl half-time performance back in 2012. To put this all into perspective, it’s a dispute over a hand gesture that’s trundled along for almost 18 months now.
Though her lawyer Howard King stated there would be some kind of public response now the NFL’s legal action has been made public, who knew it would as lulzy as the video above, in which she labels NFL’s puritanical bitch-fit a “massive display of corporate dick shaking.”

She continued:
“It’s been making me laugh for a while, but now it’s so boring I don’t even laugh anymore. So the precise moment in question, and you can actually freeze-frame this as many media outlets have. The frame you’re looking for has my middle finger in the foreground, and the larger picture where it zooms out is a row of ten to fifteen cheerleaders, young black females, that Madonna got from a local high school in Indianapolis, and they were all under 16. If you look at them, they’re all wearing cheerleader outfits, hips thrusted in the air, legs wide open, in this very sexually provocative position. So, now, they’ve scapegoated me into figuring out the goalposts of what is offensive in America. Is my finger offensive, or is the underage black girl with her legs wide open more offensive to the family audience?”

I’ve helpfully included said freeze frame but can’t help but feel there are a lot of questions left unanswered by both sides…
Help us out!
Who’s right? The NFL or MIA? NFL. She breached her contract…as simple as that. MIA. The NFL are throwing a bitch fit over nothing. Whut’s a “Super Bowl”?!
