There’s something impossibly mesmerizing about 3D art, isn’t there? The feeling that if you look long enough you might be able to crack its mysteries and reveal the rendered image to be some sort of clever photograph is almost unshakeable. The work of Machineast—the Singapore-based art/design duo of Fizah Rahim and Rezaliando—inspires just this type of wonder. After one glance at their 3D works, like the ribbon and pearl below, rippling in pools of color, you’ll find yourself staring at the images for long minutes or hitting replay again and again.
They've got a sense of fun, too, captioning their Darth Vader poster with the following: "Darth Vader commissioned us to do this poster for their recruitment page (we said no but he force choked us into saying yes). Job benefits include: Super cool red lightsaber, a one of a kind mask customised to your personality, fashion forward all black outfit + cloak, storm troopers as your minions, unlimited powahhh!!! Note: We can't guarantee a good relationship with your family members after joining the dark side."
