Eclectic Method Remix The King’s Speech [VIDEO]

So the awards season is upon us and this year there’s been back slapping, upsets, and insults in equal measure, it seems. If it’s not Ricky Gervais upsetting the preened and pretty of the gathered Hollywood royalty, it’s an independent film about a stuttering monarch taking all the plaudits from a film about Facebook.

And as if winning an Oscar wasn’t enough, the The King’s Speech has now been given the remix treatment by mash-up maestros Eclectic Method—who launched their 8-bit Mixtape on our blog last August—giving it their own unique spin in The King’s Remix. Taking famous stutters from film and TV past (perhaps most amusingly in the form of Michael Palin’s long suffering Ken Pile in A Fish Called Wanda and Porky Pig), they’ve intercut them with the Oscar-crowned performance from Colin Firth, all set to the laconic beat of Lou Reed’s “Walk On the Wild Side.”
