How does A.I. art stack up against human art?

Jerry Saltz knows art.

Saltz, the senior art critic at New York Magazine for the past 11 years, has been a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in criticism three times. He also tried his hand as a reality TV judge for Bravo’s series, “Work of Art”, a competition show for budding artists. He’s even married to the senior art critic at The New York Times.

But Saltz had never seen art created, generated or assisted by artificial intelligence. So we showed him some, and he had a lot to say.
