Helfer crafts cut and paste soundscapes that combine organic instrumentation with twitchy, electronics, weaving his own spectral vocals in the mix only to fade them out again. Signed to Israel-based boutique label BLDG5, Helfer’s latest song, “Designs” (premiering below) layers up slowly with sequences that run like water, looped and fragmented ambient refrains, and a firework starburst of beats. If a man made love to a computer, outdoors, I imagine it would sound like this. Listen, like, love.

Kim has a very specific visual of a man making love to a computer in her head now. It involves a mac like this one. She’s on Twitter – @theKTB.
