Here’s a big terrestrial groan hot off the presses: Will.I.Am’s “Reach for the Stars” is set to beam down from the Curiosity Rover to NASA’s Jet Propulsion Lab, effectively becoming the first slab of human-made recorded music to pump out over the barren Red Planet. And that’s really, really sad.
OK sure, the publicity shlock (this is the premiere of “Reach for the Stars,” of course!) is running in tandem with Will heading up an educational event for starry-eyed youngsters. And that’s cool. More power to him and NASA on that end. But, still. Will.I.Am? Really? I mean, c’mon. Who made that call? Because if we’re talking ideal Mars jamz, the sky quite literally smashes through the proverbial limit.
