I’m a sucker for hit-you-over-the-head catchy indie-pop which is exactly the kind of music KYTES create: their debut tune, “Inner Cinema,” sounds like Phoenix if they’d been raised in a small town on the English coastline. Zippy synths, uh-oh-oh refrains, and like a satisfying one night stand, it’s in and out the door before you have time to get bored. Lyrically drummer Timothy Lush had this to say about it: “The songs title makes it clear that we all have our own film running in our heads, be it fiction or fantasy. It’s the cinema inside our own head keeps us all pretty busy.”
