What is an estron? Apparently, if you’re Welsh, it means “alien” or “stranger”—which makes sense because (a) ESTRONS were strangers when they first met on a beach in Wales and (b) they’re kinda extra-terrestial in the sense they’re about to rocket up.
Their latest single “Make a Man” is a fierce declaration of the band’s dynamic sound. It’s not just notes though—there’s meaning behind the music too. “Make a Man” turns the idea of female objectification on its head. “It’s the story of a heterosexual female’s battle between desiring a man, whilst simultaneously finding herself having little respect for his self-important ego and misogynistic attitude towards women,” explains lead singer Taliesyn Källström. “She retaliates by objectifying him herself.”
