Rove McManus—national icon, cultural darling, confusing first crush—is coming back to Australian TV. Almost a decade after he walked away from the non-threatening juggernaut that was Rove Live to follow an ill-founded dream of US fame, he’s returning to his ancestral home.
His new Channel Ten show Show Me the Movie! will premiere on March 22. The one-hour program will be filmed live (classic Rove) and be a mix of comedy, improv, film trivia and celebrity appearances. Please believe I have no trace of irony or cynicism when I say that all this sounds super good. His new co-hosts will be actress Jane Harber and comedian Joel Creasey. Umm, excuse me… where are Corinne and Pete?
