Pope Francis is coming to NYC tomorrow and locals are preparing for jammed traffic, inhuman lines at the airport, and reading a host of thinkpieces about the Vicar of Christ’s place in American politics. While he’s in town, he’s got a busy schedule—VICE has some suggested addendums—but photographer and friend of The Creators Project Richard Silver thought the Pope would be want to visit some of our city’s finest houses of God.
He sent us a kaledescopic selection of his Vertical Churches series, curated specifically for His Holiness. The Vatican may have St. Peter’s Basilica and the Sistine Chapel, but NYCCity has some beauts too.

Church of the Village, Grace Church
“Personally I love what the Pope is doing,” Silver tells The Creators Project. “I feel he is opening up the church to so many people who felt closed out of their own religion. As someone who has traveled through most of South America and knowing how religious so many of the countries are there, I am sure they are extremely proud of the way he is representing them.”
