Swedish punk is synonymous with Ebba Grön. They’ve been influencing the entire Nordic music scene for the past 36 years or so and you could probably say that what their punk did for teens in the 70s and 80s, hip-hop is doing for everybody today.

To celebrate Ebba Grön–well, it’s more of a celebration of punk in general–Swedish hip-hop princes Adam Tensta and Nebay Meles have made their own version of the classic Ebba Grön track “Vad Ska Du Bli? (that’s Swedish and means something like: What will become of you?). It’s set to be released on Saturday, November 30.

The track is part of a cover-album entirely devoted to Ebba Grön’s music, entitled Tyst För Fan – Ekon från Ebba Grön (that’s also Swedish and literally means, Shut the fuck up – Echoes from Ebba Grön.) It features plenty of current Swedish talent. Also, Adam’s concept album Last Days of Punk will be released on Saturday, too, in the shape of limited edition VINYLS that you can get hold of if you are in Umeå on Friday or/and Stockholm on Saturday.

I’m probably gonna sound super cheesy now, but here’s a treat (told you so) for all of you who won’t be able to travel to Umeå or Stockholm, or if you simply can’t wait another 24 hours: We’ve got hold of an exclusive preview of “Vad Ska Du Bli?” that you can listen to here until the official release on Saturday.

The two release parties for “Vad Ska Du Bli?”, Last Days of Punk, as well as a general tribute to Ebba Grön will take place at Scharinska in Umeå on Friday, and at Stockholm’s own house of punk, Kafé 44, on Saturday. And yes – everyone’s invited! Apart from Adam Tensta and Nebay Meles, you’ll get the chance to hang out with David Sandström of Refused and Eboi, too. (And yeah, there will be even more surprises – promise).

See you there!
