After releasing his album I AKA I on Ninja Tune, Iran-born, London-based electronic artist Ash Koosha has shared the music video for “Mudafossil,” via Adult Swim. The clip, which features a disorienting and somewhat disturbing deconstruction of digital flesh, was directed by Hirad Sab and Dalena Tran.
There’s something undeniably fascinating about the textures shifting from shiny metallic forms to skinless muscles and bones, as the virtual bodies twist apart into abstract shapes. The technique shares some common ground with Koosha’s music itself, as his “nano-compositions” are based heavily on taking small samples and turning those textures into instruments for his soundscapes.
