We will start presenting Avant/Garde Diaries on VICE.COM in the coming weeks, a project initiated by Mercedes-Benz that aims to bring the innovative and the amazing to our collective attention. The project is already running and they decided to cover Raf Simons’ transition from fashion designer to curator by giving him the chance to bring together ten brilliant minds whose work is embodied by the phrase ‘thinking ahead of their time’. And what better way to do that than by having a gigantic party? The first event, Transmissions, took place in Berlin, was hosted by Raf and was a real one-off of a bash.

Avant/Garde Diaries will introduce the people who are not just thinking ahead, but pretty much defining what people will love in the future. We will introduce you to influential artists and the next generation’s great minds once a week.
