Collaborative Warm Weather Gear

As a fashion designer, Alexandre Herchcovitch believes that technology should be primarily utilized to create comfort for the wearer — but in such a way that the wearer might not recognize the intention behind it. Most notably in 2000, he developed a fabric that would change from white to purple when it came in contact with UVA or UVB rays…opposite of the purple sunscreen we were wearing at the time!

This season Alexandre Herchcovitch teamed up with German eyewear brand, MYKITA, to create a unisex sunglasses line for his Spring/Summer 2011 collection. The shades are available in two styles in three colors: gold/amber, turquoise, and black and are handmade from flat sheets of stainless steel that can be molded to the wearer’s face…which means you can share with your best friend or significant other. Visit MYKITA’s website for where to buy.
