Creators Remix Roundup Week 21

Our Creators are a very talented and prolific bunch, and our inbox is always cluttered with alerts of new remixes and mashups from the incredible DJs and producers in our line-up. We just couldn’t keep these fresh new tunes to ourselves because, after all, filesharing is caring. Here are our top picks from the past week.

Cold Cave feat. Nick Zinner: “The Great Pan Is Dead”

Videos by VICE

Cold Cave is a solo project from New York-based vocalist Wesley Eisold, who features a rotating cast of musicians on his records. Nick Zinner lends guitar for his second and latest album, “Cherish The Light Years,” which was just released earlier this week. On his Tumblr, Eisold says the first single off the record “The Great Pan Is Dead” existed in his head for almost two years: “It had to be the first song on the album and serve as a declaration of everything I want to assert through Cold Cave.” Here’s to tying up loose ends…

Martin Solveig feat. Kele: “Ready 2 Go”

This electronic pop anthem from French DJ and producer Martin Solveig perfectly encapsulates our state of mind on an early Friday afternoon, as Solveig’s lyrics keep prodding with the question, “Are you ready to go?” You have no idea, buddy. The slight dubstep overtones are surprising, but they’re subtle enough not to be totally off-base. You can hear Bloc Party frontman Kele come in on the refrain, and speaking of Bloc Party, the band is set to reunite in September.

Mark Ronson feat. Daniel Merriweather: “A Little Bit Better”

Here’s another accomplishment Mark Ronson can cross off his list. The British DJ and producer just finished his first film score for Jason Winer’s upcoming film Arthur, starring Russell Brand and Jennifer Garner. This track, featuring Australian singer-songwriter Daniel Merriweather sounds like a typical “romcom” croon, but having musicians we really like behind the sentimental jam makes the sappiness all the more bearable, right? Arthur opens in US theaters today.
