Whether or not you think it’s dumb that R2-D2 can fly in the original Star Wars trilogy, the sight of drone artist Otto Dieffenbach‘s styrofoam recreation of the lovable droid soaring of San Diego Comic-Con this weekend is a joy. Star Wars fans at Comic-Con were also rocked by this year’s drool-worthy announcements about Episode VII: The Force Awakens, a surprise appearence by Harrison Ford, and J.J. Abrams’ even more surprising Star Wars-themed concert. With R2-D2 whooshing over plastic lightsaber-wielding Jedi and Princess Leia cosplayers on top of all that, it was an emotionally-exhausting weekend for Star Wars fans worldwide.
