Kicker Nails Ref in Head, Makes Extra Point Anyway

Midland Lee (TX) kicker Luis Aranda got a little extra help on an extra point attempt from a referee’s face. Aranda lined up for the extra point and hit a line drive right into the referee’s forehead and it still had enough oomph to it that continued up and over the crossbar for a good PAT. It took a little while for the two officials under the posts to realize what happened, but they eventually realized the kick was true.

Despite everything else going on in high school football, we do not think Aranda is being investigated for anything untoward, unless good luck is against the rules.
