Ever think you’d be reading about Joel and Benji Madden, frontmen of Good Charlotte and heroes of every asshole who waxed poetica about “poseurs” and watched TRL in the early 2000’s, on Noisey? Yeah, neither did we. And yet here we are…
In a move that’s a little too WTF for a Monday, the Madden Bros have apparently been teaming up with the hottest names in hip-hop for Before Volume One, what will apparently be the first in a series of collab mixtapes (presumably to tack on the street cred the Maddens lost when one of them put a baby inside Nicole Richie). In addition to names like Wiz Khalifa and The Cool Kids, BenJo worked with everyone’s favorite/least favorite rising rapper Kreayshawn on a new song, “Firetruck” (featuring Hollywood Holt). Take a listen to that below:

Speaking of confounding creative teams, word is that Tyler the Creator, Frank Ocean, and Toro Y Moi are set to pop out a new jam together any day now. Tongues started wagging when Tyler posted a cryptic tweet hinting at the possibility of a future project with Chaz Bundick and R&B crooner Ocean.
Just kidding; he posted a photo of the three in the studio together and compared the song to a blowjob: “Fuck This Shit Is Amazing. This Song Frank Has Is Like Getting Head For The 2nd Time.” Is that a middle finger we see from the soft-spoken surfer of chillwaves? That Tyler boy is such a bad influence…
No info yet on where or when we’ll see the track, but in the meantime, you can get your fix of Toro by checking out Chaz’s remix of Tyler’s “French” below and catching him on the last leg of his fall/winter world tour by peeping the dates and details:
