MIXED BY Monki

Next up in the MIXED BY series is UK DJ Monki, who after going from intern to prime-time DJ at famed London station Rinse FM, broke out in 2013 with her slot on BBC Radio 1’s excellent “In New DJs We Trust” series.

Alongside the likes of Jackmaster and Salva, Monki took to national radio with ease, and has been touring and playing out solidly ever since. Monki stands alongside fellow BBCR1-championed newcomers such as Eclair Fifi and Moxie as a new generation of female DJs to follow in the footsteps of stalwarts Annie Mac, Annie Nightingale and Mary Anne Hobbs; smashing every set, curating public tastes and redressing the gender imbalance in British music broadcasting.

Monki’s big moment this year will come at We Are Rockstars (W.A.R!) as part of Ibiza Rocks; a summer-long showcase of new DJ talent, alongside classic names like DJ EZ, Fatboy Slim and 2 Many DJs.
