MSTRKRFT Details New Album ‘Operator,’ Shares Blistering Single “Party Line”

Toronto’s MSTRKRFT have released the details of their forthcoming album Operator, which will be the duo’s first record since 2009’s Fist of God. Jesse F. Keeler and Al-P have also dropped the punishingly aggressive first single “Party Line,” which features vocals from American post-punk legend Ian Svenonius, best known for his work with Nation Of Ulysses, the Make-Up, and Chain and the Gang.

“[Ian Svenonius] was someone who we had wanted to collaborate with for a long time,” explains Al-P in a press release. “It wasn’t until we started writing Operator that we realized this would be the project. We had a really strong instrumental piece with the working title “Party Line” that demanded a vocal with a certain swagger. Ian was able re-contextualize the title and make it work with the lyrics he wrote, which became something we connected with personally, and fit perfectly with the entire album as a body of work.”
