One-Handed Catches For Everyone!

I don’t know what’s going on in the football world, but there have been a slew of one-handed grabs of late. Obviously there was Odell Beckham, Jr.’s—which if given the chance to watch, you should always, always watch—but there was also Robert Woods last night for the Bills. And now, we’ve seen another unlikely one-handed catch in the Battle of Ohio tonight.

In a tie game, late, Miami (OH) tight end Alex Welch made a ridiculous one-handed catch off a deflected pass that really should have been intercepted by Ohio’s Quentin Poling. The play went for 16 yards and a first down inside Bobcats territory.

Miami sputtered and went three-and-out after the catch and had to punt. On their next possession, Ohio picked up nearly 40 yards on a big pass from Derrius Vick to Brendan Cope set up the game-winning field goal. The Bobcats won 24-21.
