If you make innovative video art, this is your moment. Why? A contest, called Youtube Play, is being held by the Guggenheim as a way to bring fresh art to the museum. In the promo video above, Andy Berndt, vice president of Google and Youtube’s Creative Lab, and Nancy Spector, deputy director and chief curator of the Guggenheim, explain that they’ve put their heads together and decided a a contest is the best way to reach the largest possible audience worldwide. All you have to do to enter is post your video to youtube.com/play before July 31st. Then a panel will select the best 20-25 to be shown at the Guggenheim in the first ever biennial of creative video. We think this is so exciting, we just might whip something up ourselves.
