Cars crash, wine glasses smash, and two strangers enter each other’s reality in Nuit Blanche. The catch is that all this artfully rendered destruction takes place in an earlier world that has been meticulously painted over our current one. Director Arev Manoukian shot many of the indoor scenes using a green screen, the outdoor ones in front of contemporary buildings and streets, and then digitally stitched still images of older interiors, cars, facades, and even hairstyles over the footage, using the latest 3-D software to assist in our trip back in time. The best part is that you can watch a video of the Making of Nuit Blanche as it’s happening in addition to the film itself.
